The Shoals is defined as the area comprising Florence, Muscle Shoals, Tuscumbia and Sheffield.  Located in the farthest corner of northwestern Alabama, it is home to several well-known Alabama attractions, including Helen Keller’s birthplace and home, world famous recording studios and a beautiful river city full of rich history.   Situated on the banks of the Tennessee River, The Shoals is surrounded by serene bodies of water including Pickwick, Wheeler, and Wilson Lakes.  From hiking the TVA trails along the Tennessee River to bass fishing, you’ll never be left without some outdoor fun to enjoy.

The Shoals is a unique and special place that’s bursting at the seams with history, style, music and Southern charm.  Known as the ‘Hit Recording Capital of the World’ in the 1960s and beyond, recording studios all over The Shoals are still making hits and propelling artists to fame to this very day.  The music scene is so robust that The Shoals is home to the The Alabama Music Hall of Fame, which honors more than 1,200 Alabama musicians, from Hank Williams to the Commodores.  The Shoals is often referred to as ‘Alabama’s Best Kept Secret’ and as you can see…there’s no doubt as to why.
